The Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD) supports EU countries' actions to provide material assistance to the most deprived. It was set up as the successor to the EU’s Food Distribution Programme for the Most Deprived People (MDP). Its aim is to help alleviate the worst forms of poverty.

National authorities take the individual decisions leading to the delivery of the assistance through partner organisations (non-governmental). National co-financing share in the programme is 15%.

Finland focus on food aid. Food products purchases on the basis of a competitive tendering procedure by national authority. Food will be supply to partner organisations who locally deliver food to the most deprived.
